INSTRUCTIONS for Maintaining your handball
To ensure long durability and optimal performance, we recommend the following guidelines for handball maintenance:
1. Inflation
When inflating, we recommend using valve oil to prolong the lifespan of the valve. See how to inflate your ball correctly
2. Cleaning the Ball
Remove resin regularly – preferably once a week or as needed. Regular cleaning prevents the resin from drying out and becoming difficult to remove.
Recommended methods:
- Use a resin ball to remove old resin - watch video
- Use Select Handball Cleaner - watch video
- Machine cleaning is possible, but ensure the machine is warm and allow sufficient time to soften the resin before starting the cleaning process, as otherwise the ball’s surface may be damaged. For very dried resin: you may use a hairdryer to soften the resin before cleaning. Remember to remove resin from the seams, especially when machine cleaning
3. Storage
- The ball should be stored at room temperature in a dry room
- Avoid contact with wet clothes/towels
- For transportation, it is recommended to store the ball in a Select handball bag or a plastic bag
- Incorrect storage (e.g., in cold or damp rooms) can eventually damage the synthetic leather material. Therefore, storage at room temperature is required.
4. Claims
Claims are not accepted if:
- The ball has been damaged by contact with sharp objects
- The ball has been used on unsuitable surfaces (e.g., asphalt or outdoors)
- The ball has not been maintained properly, e.g., by not cleaning it regularly
