Street Handball is a new, fun and educational game which basically looks like handball – and then not really. With inspiration from e.g. basketball the game has its own set of rules and equipment.

You do not need a hall, a court or a special surface to play Street Handball. The game can be played inside and outside – in the school yard, in the garden, on the street or parking lot.

As official partner SELECT has developed a special, soft ball which makes it possible to play the game regardless of age, level and gender. The ball can be squeezed and is easy to catch and control. It can not bounce and does not need to be pumped full of air. Since the game can take place on asphalt the ball is made from an extremely durable synthetic leather.

Besides the ball the Street Handball set consists of a goal that can be easily folded and packed into a bag and a template for a court. With this the lines can be drawn, put down or made with tape really quickly (the set is not available from SELECT – enquire about dealer).

The concept was developed by a trio with a background in handball – including the Danish star player Lasse Boesen. The hope is to maintain handball in the schools and to teach children and young people the social values in the sport.
